Lunar SMP Rules

This is a version of the Lunar SMP rules on our discord for those who find lists hard to read. PLEASE NOTE you still have to react to the individual rule sets on the discord server.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I ping a moderator?
- If the thing you are pinging about is time sensitive (ie server is down, loss of items due to lag).
- When scheduling in the LunarTheos scheduling channel.
Who can see how many strikes I have?
Only the moderator team will know you have a strike.
How do I get my friend added to Lunar?
Have them reply to our most recent tweet on Lunar’s main twitter - after that they are processed through our potential members list and voted on by the mod team.
How many warnings do I get?
You get one rule break warning before you get a strike - this is not one warning per rule, it is one warning period. You can also get more than one strike per rule if you break a rule, get a strike, then break the same rule again later.
Can I get my strike removed?
No, strikes are not removable. Even if rules are changed and the rule you get a strike for is eventually removed, your strikes will not be retroactively removed because you broke the rule when it was in effect, regardless of if it is not anymore.
I forgot about this rule, am I able to get my strike removed?
No, please see the channel #server-rules on discord. It is listed as rule number one that you are bound to these rules when you agree to them by reacting.
If I report someone for breaking a rule or one of my boundaries to a moderator, will they find out it was me?
No, moderators will never directly mention you. You are always anonymous when the issue is brought to the attention of the member who broke the rule.
If a rule break involves another member, can I have the player’s name who mentioned this to talk to them privately?
No, members who bring attention to rule breaks are kept anonymous to protect everyone involved and ensure everyone feels comfortable coming forward without threat of potential retaliation, even if that is not your intent in asking for their identity.
What happens if I leave Lunar and want to come back?
If players are issued a ban, they are not welcome back. Re-application will be ignored.
However, if you leave Lunar without being banned and wish to return, you simply have to message the mods on Twitter to be re-added; You can only willingly leave and come back once, though - if you leave a second time, you will not be allowed back. As such, it's better to go inactive on the server than fully leave if you plan on being active again at a later date.
Players who left the server for non-rule reasons are welcome to re-apply. After 100 days if you do not reapply or ask to join again, your build is removed from Lunar and your items are preserved. You are still welcome to re-apply after the 100-day mark, but your builds will not be available.Old shops will be removed after only 10 days, but your stuff will be kept per rules specified above.

Server Rules

Server members are bound to all three rule sets (Server Rules, Streaming Rules, and Lore Rules) at all times, regardless of message reaction status. It is the member’s responsibility to be aware of the rules, as they will still get strikes for infractions regardless of rule awareness.Excluding Server Rule 8 (which covers instant-bans), this server runs on a “3 strikes, you're out” policy before you are banned. Depending on the severity of the infraction, this policy can be bypassed. Please read and react to EACH rule set (Server, Streaming, Lore Rules) to gain access to the discord and be whitelisted on the server. Reacting to these rule sets is your acknowledgement that you have read and accept the rules as they are written.Server Rules
1. Do not do anything to directly harm the server. This includes lagging it out with builds/images, entity cramming, or leaking our IP.
2. No griefing or stealing.
-- Do not take anything from someone that you don’t have explicit permission to take.
-- Under the umbrella of griefing: build damage, sign/image spamming builds.
-- Griefing during lore is allowed if the build owner agrees ahead of time.
3. Use tone indicators when engaging in sensitive conversations and during lore.
-- Use /lore to indicate the start and end of lore sessions.
-- Tag triggers and sensitive topics by using “CW/TW [the content name] || [the sensitive information] | |” to keep everyone on the server safe.
-- Tone indicators guide: https://toneindicators.carrd.co/.
4. NSFW content must be contained to the NSFW general chat, which has its own rules members are required to follow. Be mindful of behavior in streams, VCs, and non-NSFW areas of the server.5. Be respectful of everyone's boundaries - do not ask or do anything to intentionally make someone uncomfortable and adhere to the boundaries they've set.6. You must always ask for permission to enter a vc before entering. Ask in minecraft chat or @ them in the no-mic channels. Do not join if someone does not give permission.7. The order in which server members should ask for assistance from mods when an issue occurs is as follows:
-- 1. Contact an in-game mod for issues that can be handled publicly.
-- 2. If no mods are present in-game, contact the mods in #mod-helpline. If the issue is urgent, ping @moderator.
-- 3. If your issue is private or extensive time has passed since you posted in the helpline, contact any mod you feel comfortable discussing the matter with in DMs.
The first mod to assist you is the one who will make the decisions on how to help. Seeking out help from different mods after you have already received assistance for the matter results in a strike. Note that moderators retain full rights to assist you in the way they see fit.8. The following infractions will result in an instant ban:
-- Being under the age of 17.
-- Participating in doxxing someone (server member or otherwise).
-- Falsely reporting someone using the “Player Report” feature.
-- Directly engaging in targeted harassment (server member or otherwise).
-- Engaging in racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, etc. language on the server, discord, or social media.

Streaming/Recording Rules

1. Anyone is allowed to stream or record on this SMP at any time, as long as they react to and follow the streaming rules.2. When streaming/ recording on the server, you must let people know when you log on (or if they log on in the middle of your stream/recording) that you’re streaming/recording. Alternatively, you can have chat turned off for the entirety of the stream. Additionally, if you are using Lunar VCs, you need to be in the streaming VCs.3. Basic streaming etiquette is expected to be followed: do not mention others’ streams during the stream, do not promote yourself unless allowed, check if the steamer allows cursing or NSFW content on their stream, don’t ask to be modded/VIPed, etc.4. If you’re going to be on someone’s stream/recording, familiarize yourself with Twitch’s TOS, which can be found here
-- Twitch’s Creator Camp also has a helpful guide of Twitch Etiquette here
5. You must ask the person who is streaming/recording to join their streaming vc before joining. The person who is streaming/recording reserves the right to refuse anyone permission to join.

Lore Rules/Guidelines

1. You can do anything you want character-wise on this server as long as you follow the lore rules/guidelines. Moderator approval for storylines is not needed unless it directly has to do with god characters/ characters played by mods.2. Moderators can give your characters effects to mimic powers. They reserve the right to refuse the powers, as well as the right to ask that you give something in exchange for powers.3. Griefing is allowed during lore as long as the build owner is aware and allows it to happen.4. You must make sure everyone is aware when lore is happening by using the /lore tone indicator at the start of your lore and in any messages pertaining to lore. Also, warn players if they log in during lore that you are doing so.5. Make sure everyone involved with lore is happy to be involved and aware of what's going on. All members reserve the right to refuse involvement in lore.6. Items lost during lore can be restored by moderators after lore completion - please be respectful/honest about what you had when asking for it back.7. Introduce your character in #character-intros to have them added. You can change or update your character at any time, even after they’re added to the channel. Further lore planning can be done in the #writers-room.8. If your lore includes serious topics, please ensure everyone online is aware and that you are mindful of everyone’s boundaries/triggers. Triggers must be properly tagged.9. Do not make fun of anyone’s lore/ideas on this server. We encourage creativity and individual ideas, not being harassed or made fun for them.10. Members are responsible for writing their lore updates, which mods will then post on the official Twitter. Guidelines for writing lore updates can be found in #official-lore-updates.11. Do not create anything from the gods without moderator approval, as they are moderator-made characters for the purpose of whole-server lore. If you want your character to be related to a god (outside of the sins, who cannot reproduce), please work with moderators in the #writers-room.
